What we learned from 100 customer interviews

Over three months we spoke to one hundred teams about how they plan, ship and report. Here is what surprised us.

Last spring we set ourselves a rule: before writing a single line of the next release, we would talk to a hundred teams. It took three months, and it changed our roadmap more than any internal meeting did.

Three things that surprised us

  • Setup time matters more than features. Teams that were productive on day one were far more likely to still be with us a year later.
  • Nobody wants another place to look. The tools that win are the ones that replace two others, not the ones that add a third.
  • Reporting is where trust is built. A clear weekly summary did more for a team’s relationship with its clients than any new feature.

What we changed

We cut the onboarding flow from nine steps to four, moved the integrations page to the front of the product, and rebuilt reporting around the summary rather than the chart. Version 2.0 is the result.

I do not want more dashboards. I want to know what to do on Monday.

If you were one of the hundred, thank you. If you were not, our inbox is always open.
